Endzone is an American football team management game by Alternative. It seems as though it’s an adapted football management game engine, which just American football teams added. There’s nothing that American about it at all. That said, there’s very little management either; it’s just a case of buying and selling players between matches and picking a team. The results seem to be pretty random too, so it’s very difficult to get anywhere. It’s very poor so I’d avoid this one. There are tons of better management sims to choose from…
endzone1
Top of the league.
endzone2
Well done!
endzone3
The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I saved my progress as I beat teams. It took a while.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The whole game builds to the superbowl final. If you win it there is an end screen. It shows the superbowl trophy in front of a large star spangled banner. The words ‘SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS’ is written below it.
COMMENTS:
Neil: A poorly drawn ending picture awaits you after hours of dull gaming. Yet another disappointing conclusion.
Vinny: What an absolutely rubbish game; and the ending doesn’t seem to be much cop either! Boring, boring, boring…
Brendan Phoenix: That trophy looks like a watermelon stuck on Jedward’s head.
Andrew Fisher: It’s terrible, and it’s hard to believe that Endzone 2 is EVEN WORSE with its terrible in-game sequences… As Neil says, this is basically a reworked football manager type of game, with a lousy ending. Definitely one to be thrown to the ground in the endzone… and then trampled on by large men until it can no longer be loaded.
Andy Vaisey: Well, what a nice wonky flag at the end…
FINAL SAY: #Oh say can you see….by the dawn’s early light…#

G.E. RATING: 2 / 10

One Response to Endzone by Alternative Software

  1. Not a genre I ever got on with, though I kind of liked the Ultimate Manager PC games as you could build a pretty stadium complex and had the option to be a corrupt cheating swine, just like in real life … On the C64, though, they all seemed like this, just staring at tables, juggling a few statistics, and hoping for the best. I’m mildly surprised this one has an end at all, not that it would have been much of a reward for such tedium.
