Ah – no prize for guessing what this is the sequel to 😉 Another little gem from Achim Volkers, but this time with a little twist. Instead of playing as the sheep, you play as Shep, a beloved border collie (sheep dog) who has to guide the sheep back to their pen in time for sheep shearing. Shep must herd a certain number of sheep in each of the 20 levels within a certain time limit. If the time runs out and not enough sheep have been sent to their pen, you will have to restart the level. Like the first instalment, it’s a delightful game and lots of fun to play. So does the ending live up to its original…
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Inge cheated his way to the end, but I went for the quick and easy approach:
– Load and start the game
– Freeze it using an Action Replay Cart
– Press ‘M’ for MONITOR
– Type: G 2D87 (this uses the GO command and goes to mem location: $2D87, where the ending is situated).
– The ending will start.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: A cute little ending that sees Shep coming back to the field for a rest and is then joined by a sheep. They sit and cuddle together and the words “THE END” appear in the sunset. This is accompanied by a Richard Bayliss ending tune.
Vinny: Yet another great ending from Achim. For me, this one is just a tad better than the first one. I love the cute animation and the way Shep puts his arm around the sheep and then the sheep pops his head on Shep’s shoulder. A great touch. Nice ending tune too. Brilliant 🙂
Brendan Phoenix: Defo better than the first ending.
Some inter species love – didn’t even risk a knock on the door from the 5-0 for viewing that!
Andrew Fisher: I found the game pretty tough, but another very good ending!
Andy Vaisey: I downloaded this a few weeks ago not expecting much to be honest, but it turned out quite addictive. Does suffer from a few bugs however. And sometimes the simple ideas are best, like the ending! What a simple but lovely idea! Save the tune. Urgh…
Gaz Spence: Another lovely ending, but it is a little ginger beer and hockey sticks.
FINAL SAY: A slight improvement on the first ending 😛
G.E. RATING: 8 / 10
