I loved playing this game back in the 80s. As well as being fun to play it was worth loading just to hear the FANTASTIC Martin “Spagbol” Galway loading and in-game music.
If you haven’t played Rambo by Ocean before (where have you been?!), it’s a multi-directional shoot-em-up game where you take on the role of John Rambo who has to rescue hostages held in a Vietnamese P.O.W. camp. Even though the game is very short, it’s very easy on the eyes and ears, and the game play is simple yet effective. Unfortunately, ZZAP! 64 magazine thought it was only worth an overall score of 65%, but I remember loving this game back in the eighties, and I still load it up now and again to see if I can complete it.
So did shooting a few soldiers and blowing up a camp or two pay off?  …
End of Task One – “Easy”
And on to the final sequence …
Fly that muvva and land it on the “H”!
The End – and so soon!
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: This really isn’t a difficult game to complete and so I did it without any cheats!
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: After finally landing your helicopter at base camp you are presented with a ‘CONGRATULATIONS‘ screen which reads, “CONGRATULATIONS. THANKS TO YOU TEN P.O.W.S HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO THE HOMELAND. YOU KNOW YOU MUST NOW RETURN TO GET MORE UNFORTUNATE SOLDIERS TRAPPED BY ENEMY FORCES.” Whilst this screen is being displayed, there is a SUPERB fan-fare type ditty which rounds off this ending very well – well done Martin (“,)
Vinny: If it wasn’t for Martin’s music this ending wouldn’t be worth such a big rating.
FINAL SAY: It’s easy enough to complete yourself, but check out the download which gives you infinite energy after the game ending (“,)
