To be honest with you, I’d run out of Christmas themed game endings and so I had to go hunting for one. Fortunately there are a few Christmas games in Gamebase 64, but it still meant that I had to either do some game playing or some devious hacking… I opted for the game playing, but I was devious about it…
Santa Claus’ Helper by TMMB is a simple Public Domain (PD) game where you take on the role of Santa Claus who has to fly through various winter landscapes to collect all the Christmas parcels (99 of them) that have fallen through a hole in his sack and have been left behind. It’s a simple and jolly game that requires you to have quick reflexes to get you out of a stick situation. There’s not much to the game, but it’s still fun to play.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a trained version by Chromance that gave me infinite time and never let me lose a parcel.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you have collected the 99th parcel, an ending message appears, which reads: “YO! YOU MADE IT! YOU HAVE JUST COLLECTED ALL PARCELS IN TIME! WHAT A HERO! TEATIME!“
Vinny: To be honest with you, I thought this game was about gaining a high score and so I didn’t think there would be an ending. It was nice to see that it does, but unfortunately it isn’t anything to get excited about 😦 0.5/10 from me.
Andrew Fisher: Christmas themed games are usually pretty boring, and this one ends in a boring way.
Andy Vaisey: Not much of an Xmas pressie at the end of this game… curse you Santa!
Gaz Spence: To be fair Vinny, you did well to unearth another holiday-themed game with an ending, even if it is just a simple little collect-em up I appreciated the effort.
FINAL SAY: It’s Christmas! Let’s be generous… 10/10!!
G.E. RATING: 0.5 / 10
