Here’s a game that I had never seen or played until Brendan sent in the game ending…
The Pearl of Dawn by CP Verlag is an arcade adventure game that has you walking around a map armed with your trusty catapult (‘slingshot’ for our U.S. viewers) collecting important items and defeating annoying mosters. It reminds me of  Robin of the Wood by Odin Computer Graphics.
With it’s clean graphics and thumping SID tunes, it’s a nice little package… though it is a little tough if played without cheats…

Very nice…

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Bren used a trainer that allowed him to jump straight to the ending.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once the game is complete, a bitmap image is displayed showing our hero holding The Pearl of Dawn. The words ‘THE END‘ appear. This is accompanied by an ending tune.
COMMENTS:
Bren: Standard static screen with ‘THE END’, but the end tune is pretty nice – bumps it to a 4/10.
Vinny: I like this ending. A very nice image and a great piece of music. I’m going for 5/10.
Andrew Fisher: Will have to check this game out.
A little animation (the birds, the pearl shining) would have elevated this but it’s a nice effort.
FINAL SAY: A pleasant little surprise – but it ain’t much to see.

G.E. RATING: 4.5 / 10
