Last duel by U.S. Gold is a fairly straight forward vertical shoot-em-up. The graphics are pretty good, and the game play is average. A fan of this genre may well enjoy playing this one as there are quite a few levels and end of level bosses to get through. It seemed pretty tough to me, so I used some cheats…
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Using an infinite lives and energy cheat.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The final alien is some kind of metal contraption with extending claws. After a short battle the bad guy was destroyed and my ship zoomed up off the screen. The screen cleared and the words ‘NICE FIGHT‘ appear in small white writing. The game then looped back to level one.
Neil: With the exception of nothing whatsoever happening, this is as bad as it can get. 1/10.
Vinny: I’ve never played this game and so I’m going to have to check it out…
In the meantime… the ending sucks! I was going to give it 0.5/10, but then I realised there was a short ditty with the ending. But then again, the ditty could just be the standard ‘end of level’ ditty… hmmm… I’m happy to give it the benefit of the doubt. 1/10 from me too.
FINAL SAY: At least the message made me realise it was time to turn this crap off. Utter rubbish.
