I had never heard of this game until recently, so I decided to have a blast at it…
Parsec is a horizontal shoot-em-up in the style of Aramalyte / Delta. The music is very good and the graphics are some of the smartest I have seen in C64 shoot-em-ups. I’d recommend this to any fans of this genre, who enjoy a challenge. The game isn’t very big, but I found it quite tough. The aim, as ever is to get to the end, destroying all the end of level bosses on your way…
The ending begins…
More of the epilogue…
Very nice (“,)
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Using an infinite lives cheat.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: After blasting the final alien to bits, you get a message telling you that you have destroyed the final energy-base and that your battleships are about to go to war. A neat picture of them is shown. You then get a message telling you that after the battle, your enemies planet was destroyed and that your army returned home. Another neat picture is shown of a ship firing its boosters. You then get to enter your name into the high score table and then the game returns back to the main menu.
Neil: A suitable ending to a fine game. If you have never played this – give it a go. 6/10.
Vinny: I’m very impressed with this game and I seriously LOVE the music. And fortunately, this all follows through to the cool ending. Definitely deserves 6.5/10.
Andy Vaisey: Well, not brilliant, but certainly very satisfying. If only more games had endings like this, the world would be a better place.
Andrew Fisher: I’d travel a long distance for a good ending like that… Must check out some more of these CP Verlag games.
Brendan Phoenix: Satisfying ending. My thumb is up!
Gaz Spence: The first thing that has to be said is that Parsec is a cracking little SEU that should be right up the street of any Armalyte lover. As for the ending, I absolutely dig the music and coupled with the two pics satisfaction is guaranteed.
FINAL SAY: Very good. I didn’t expect to see much. I was pleasantly surprised.
