I remember playing this game to death on the week that it was released. It sat proud amongst my other Commodore 64 cheapies: Zub, Hunter Patrol, Finders Keepers, Human Race etc… but for some reason, my attention stayed with this game for a long time. Unfortunately, I never managed to complete it and so I was delighted when Brendan sent in the end. Well, I was delighted until I saw what he sent…
The final spell is cast…
The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I think Brendan cheated 🙂
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: See below.
Brendan: Worst ending ever – it has the same message when you are killed. I was sure I must have done something wrong but went back and killed the other wizard again – and what happens the same exact screen appears – the same screen which appears when you are killed – just doesn’t make any sense. The inlay said something along the lines of whoever is victorious claims the land as their own – thought the ending would say this as well – or something along those lines.
I captured the end shot to confirm it is the wizard on the right which dies (see the gravestone appear) you play the wizard represented on the left.
Unless someone could provide an update to this ending – if there is something else to do – I really would mark it 0/10 seeing as you get the same message as when you die.
UPDATE 18/12/08: As we all expected, there is an actual ending that consists of different text than the above message ending. Inge Pedersen kindly looked into the unsolved mystery and hacked his way into the ending. As you can see from the screen shot below… not much of an improvement to the ending.
The End – finally.
