In this typical Bayliss-Style game, you take on the role of Mr Frosty, a young snowman, who has been sent out into the cold to collect enough Christmas presents for Santa. Unfortunately, the ghost of Christmas Spirit is out to cause havoc and stop your quest from being completed.
With gameplay and graphics from Richard that were typical of that time (2009), it’s a cute little Christmas arcade game that isn’t going to challenge you too much… though it may be perfect for Christmas Day after lunch when you’ve had a few ‘sherbets’!
A cute little game… but is the ending any good?
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I originally hacked the ending by jumping to memory location $3D7C… but then I decided to do a full crazy hack of the game that has 20 extra in-game features; one of them being the game ending. You can download the crazy hack from the link area above.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once the final level is complete, a snowy ending scene appears with a message that reads: “CONGRATULATIONS. YOU HAVE GATHERED ENOUGH PRESENTS. I BET THE GRINCH IS JEALOUS NOW. HA HA!! YOUR REWARD IS AN ICE POP.” This is accompanied by an ending tune.
Vinny: It’s a nice little ending. Nothing too taxing, but nice. I’m not too sure about the ending tune, but it was a good effort to get an ending sequence in there with a few of the elements we expect. 4/10 from me.
Andrew Fisher: I quite like the ending, it’s more than just a static message so shows some thought went into it. The game itself is fun but limited, and like a lot of Richard’s games relies on the “collect x to complete level” formula.
FINAL SAY: Merry Christmas!
