I hadn’t played this game until Brendan sent in the ending, and my initial understanding was that it was going to be an Operation Wolf style game, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be…

Gangster is a target shooting style game that works with the Commodore 64 Light Gun – but you can still control the target cross with the joystick if you don’t happen to have a light gun hanging around. Taking on the role of an American police officer, your job is to rid the city of its slimy gangsters – a menace to society. You have a certain amount of gangsters to hit, ensuring that not too many of them succeed in escaping your bullets.
With its static screens and dire enemy animation, this game really failed to capture my attention. I got bored after only two levels and placed it in my ‘destined for the bin’ folder of my 1541Ultimate2 SD card.
The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Brendan used a level skip…
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Only 3 levels and they are repeated 4 times – at the end of the 4th level you get the above message, no tune – nothing.
Brendan: 1/10 – for the message.
Vinny: What a letdown. There really is nothing to this ending. Flat and gutless. 1/10 from me too!
FINAL SAY: This one was bustin’ my balls!

G.E. RATING: 1 / 10
