Time for another Alf Yngve SEUCK extraveganza in the form of 2000 Kung-Fu Maniacs, which is a follow-up from the very successfully… you’ve got it… 1000 Kung-Fu Maniacs!
Part of the SEUCK compilation ‘Shoot ’em up Destruction Set 2′ from Psytronik Software, 2000KFM continues the on-going side-ways scrolling adventures of the MASTER OF AWESOME! Once again you must battle assorted adversaries in various unusual locations: the International Arms Fair, a corrupt Art Gallery (with baddies that put the “poo” into “poodle”!) and even at the Happy Moose Megamart! Various weapons can be picked up along the way to help you combat the Kung-Fu Maniacs and other assorted foes that you will encounter on your epic quest!
As always, this is a very polished and tightly wrapped release, but does the ending offer any bonus material?…
And so our hero comes to the end of his journey…
Very funny 🙂
Oh – it’s the Grandpa from Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang!.
Yeah – so stuff your pickled herring!
Don’t agree with him!!
Shouldn’t that be: “AN ADULT”? 😉
Yeah – piss off Adult!
DON’T THANK THE OLD FART!
Oooo… I wonder what happens next?!
…wait for it… wait for it…
D’OH! The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I was a naughty boy and turned off the sprite collision and just whizzed through the game. I’m sure Alf didn’t cheat in his own game 😉
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: LOADS! Once our hero reaches the end of his journey, he says: “FINALLY, I BEAT……. THE LAST NINJA!!!” He then enters the temple where the Master is waiting. There is an exchange of words and expressions between the two characters, and then our hero leaves. It may not sound like much, but you really have to watch it to get the full benefit:-)
Vinny: Okay, so considering that this game was produced using the SEUCK, Alf really has made good use of it to produce a very cool and witty ending. I love the sprite animation of the Master slapping his head, and the whole sequence really is something to be proud of. It just misses out on being a 10/10 – Gold Medal because I felt that it could have done with its own ending tune. 9/10 from me.
Alf: Please Note: The part that I recorded does not include the long final part of the game which is a gag in itself: The Master of Awesome returns to his mentor, who asks: “Did you remember the pickled herring?”, the Master walks a long way to his house to get the tin of herring he forgot, he realizes that he left the tin on his tumble dryer despite the warning label on the tin — “Do Not Shake Before Opening” — then his house explodes, then he walks to the pub, fights more ninjas and THEN gets to the proper ending. 🙂
Brendan Phoenix: Not a bad little ending – some closing credits would have been nice though.
