How can do I describe Game Over. Well – in one word really: “nipples”. Yes folks, you’ve guessed it! It’s that saucy magazine advert of the eighties that became the talk of the town when the makers of this game, Imagine, decided to use sex to sell their game – and you can see why when you play the game. I’ll admit it though; I was one of those gormless teenagers who thought that the game was going to be riddled with sexy woman running around flashing their puffed out nipples (oo-er, missus!) and so I forked out the money to buy an original. What an idiot.
I’m a massive fan of Paul Clansey’s Cosmic Cruiser, but unfortunately this game doesn’t do it for me. Let’s see if the game ending is any better…
The crap End!
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I’m sure you all know by now that Matt is a total and utter cheat! 😉
SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Game Over!
Matt: What an awful game – needless to say every cheat was ON to finish this shower. I remember playing it as a kid and not bothering after a few goes, mainly because it’s ‘back to the beginning’ if you die!! Harsh.
Anyway, pump it up and shoot the monstery thing until its wings fall off, then shoot until it’s just a head. When you finally kill the head do not touch any buttons otherwise the end screen will not appear. It simply says ‘GAME OVER’. Oh, the irony!!
Vinny: A poor, poor ending, but the nipples are NICE 🙂
Brendan Phoenix: Given the advert had the nipple, couldn’t the ending show a bit of muff?
Andrew Fisher: Never a fan of Dinamic’s difficult games, never a fan of Game Over the game, never a fan of terrible endings like this. -1/10.
Gaz Spence: The graphics are quite atmospheric but really the game has zero playability and the ending, whilst somewhat apt, is entirely rubbish.
Romppainen: I remember this game very well from my early days, in the light that definitely ain’t positive, so I wasn’t really surprised how the ending turned out in the end. When thinking of Dinamic’s reputation as a releaser of hideous conversions I guess they would’ve hurt gamers less by selling empty game boxes.
FINAL SAY: Game over!!!
